Thank you for your comment. You are right; the various microbicide gels are still in clinical trial phases and are not yet available for public use. However, they have shown promise in a number of trials. For example, the microbicide gel PRO 2000 in study HPTN 035 showed a 30 percent protective rate. We have clarified in the article that these gels are still in the preliminary stages of development, but wanted to highlight their potential in preventing sexual transmission of HIV.</description>
