March 21-26 (Alberta, Canada) – HIV Vaccines

This event is sponsored by the Keystone Symposia on Molecular and Cellular Biology. New developments in vaccinology will be discussed as it pertains to HIV/AIDS and other viruses. Visit the website for more information.

March 27 (Charlottesville, VA) – AIDS Walk 2010

From 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Westminister Presbyterian Church (190 Rugby Road), AIDS Service Group will organize this 5K walk. Individuals have a $20 registration fee, waived for those with sponsor pledges, and teams have a $150 registration fee. Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams and individual walkers, and 78 cents for every dollar raised will go towards HIV/AIDS support programs in the area.

March 28 (Fort Lauderdale, FL) – Florida AIDS Walk

The 10k Florida AIDS Walk will take place in Huizenga, Ft. Lauderdale. The proceeds of the fundraiser will benefit the AIDS Healthcare Foundation, Broward House, the Pride Center at Equality Park, SunServe, and the Children’s Diagnostic and Treatment Center. Registration and check-in begin at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 10 a.m.

March 28 (Madison, WI) – South Pacific Bingo

As part of AIDS Network’s Camp Bingo series, this one kicks off with ball caller Carl Agnelly. Featuring our resident “Diva of the Ball” Cass Marie. Doors open at 1 p.m. and first ball called at 2:30 p.m.

April 9 (Los Angeles, CA) – Monthly AIDS Institute Grand Rounds Lecture

This UCLA lecture series aims to highlight recent research developments on the topic of HIV/AIDS and to interest, educate, and engage attendees. Each hour-long lunchtime lecture will report on new findings and new funding opportunities. April’s speaker is Margarita Alegria, Ph.D., from the Center of Multicultural Mental Health Research of the Cambridge Health Alliance and Harvard Medical School.
