July 27 (Fort Lauderdale, FL) – HIV/AIDS 101 Training Class

Broward County Health Department will offer an HIV/AIDS 101 Training Class from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the 2nd floor auditorium, Fort Lauderdale Health Center, 2421 SW 6th Avenue, Fort Lauderdale, 33315. The class provides information on HIV/AIDS fundamentals and the latest HIV medications and research. The class costs $20 for those seeking certification; all others are free of charge on a first come first served basis.

July 15-18 (Stowe, VT) - 20th Annual Gathering of Friends

The Vermont People With AIDS Coalition will sponsor its annual Retreat, which is the largest gathering of HIV+ people in VT.  The Retreat will include activities and workshops, support groups, discussion groups, and entertainment.  To register, please visit their Web site.

This will be the Coalition’s 20th Annual Retreat. It’s the largest gathering of people with HIV in the state of Vermont. The four-day event is an opportunity to spend time with others who share the burden of HIV. May 1 (Madison, WI) – Addressing The State Of Our Unions

AIDS Network Legal Services will participate in the “Addressing The State Of Our Unions” seminar, which will be held at the Broadman Law Firm.  The seminar will focus on LGBT legal issues, including adoption, employment law, etc.  Registration is limited and there are no costs for tickets.  Registration information is available on their Web site.

April 26-30 (Atlanta, GA) – Brutha, Can We Talk?

This five session workshop is a group level intervention for African American gay men. Among other things, this workshop will help teach HIV/AIDS patients how to discuss their positive status with their families and partners. Dr. Alan Graham will host a workshop designed to review legal and ethical issues for professionals who work with HIV/AIDS patients. March 7 (Hartford, CT)- Oscar Night Hartford 2010

This black-tie event will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature several large screen TVs that will broadcast the Oscars award show live. A silent auction will occur and dinner will be served for guests.
